What actually differs
The clearest difference is class: HCG is a gonadotropin analogue, HMG is a gonadotropin preparation. They are not supplied the same way. HCG comes as a lyophilised powder supplied in international units, or pre-filled pen, HMG as a lyophilised powder in international units. Half-life differs as well: Biphasic; the terminal phase is approximately 30 hours for HCG against FSH component considerably longer than the LH component for HMG.
